A.G. BARR p.l.c., the branded soft drinks group, announces the following Board changes.

John Nicolson, aged 59, will join the Board as independent non-executive director with effect from January 2013.

He is currently President of Heineken Americas, based in New York with responsibility for a region including the USA, Brazil and Mexico. John has also been Deputy Chairman of Compania Cervecerias Unidas, S.A. (Chile), since 2009.

John, a UK citizen, has had a long career in consumer goods, in beverages in particular, including many years at Scottish and Newcastle Breweries where he was a PLC board director for eight years from 2000-2008.

He has also held the positions of Director of Baltika Brewery OAO (Russia) from 2005-2008 and Chairman of that business from 2006-2007; Director of Yarpivo Brewery OAO (Russia) from 2005-2006; and Director of United Breweries Ltd (India) from 2007-2009.

In addition, Jonathan Warburton steps down from the Board, with immediate effect, to cut back on his outside responsibilities to focus more on his role at Warburtons.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R in relation to John Nicolson's appointment as a non-executive director of the Company.
