Mark Clare, Group Chief Executive of Barratt Developments PLC purchased on 16
October 2007, 37,203 Ordinary 10p shares of the Company at a price of £6.706491p
per share.

Mark Pain, Group Finance Director of Barratt Developments PLC purchased on 16
October 2007 15,000 Ordinary 10p shares of the Company at a price of £6.81p per
share.

Robert Davies, Non-Executive Director of Barratt Developments PLC also purchased
on 17 October 2007 9,000 Ordinary 10p shares of the Company at a price of
£6.802p per share.

These purchases underline Mark Clare, Mark Pain and Robert Davies belief in the
potential of Barratt following the acquisition of Wilson Bowden and their
commitment to the business.

Despite any current short term consumer concerns within the market, the
fundamentals remain strong with demand continuing to exceed supply and with the
Government intent on stimulating the sector by accelerating land availability.

Barratt is well positioned and by ensuring that its well respected sales
capabilities are being fully utilised, that costs are being tightly managed and
the balance sheet is prudently managed, the management remains confident that
Barratt can continue to compete effectively going forward.
