Financial and Annual General Meeting Dates for 2000

INTERIM ANNOUNCEMENT:
In respect of trading for the 6 months from the 1st July, 1999 - 31 December,
1999 inclusive, the Interim  Announcement will be made at 07.00am on Wednesday,
22nd March, 2000.

PRELIMINARY ANNOUNCEMENT:

In respect of trading for the 12 months from the 1st July, 1999 - 30th June,
2000 inclusive, the Preliminary Announcement incorporating the Directors'
recommendation in respect of the final dividend for that year, will be made at
07.00am on Wednesday, 20th September, 2000.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:

The Company's AGM will take place at 2.30pm in London on Thursday, 16th
November, 2000.
