Providence Resources P.l.c. is pleased to announce that the UK Department of
Trade and Industry has awarded Providence (through its UK 100% subsidiary) a 25%
licence interest in four UK North Sea blocks in the 22nd Round of Offshore
Licensing. These licences are located in blocks 210/20e, 210/24c, 210/25c and 9/

Blocks 210/20e, 210/24c and 210/25c, located in the Northern North Sea, contain
identified prospectivity within two Jurassic reservoir targets. The blocks are
located north-west of the Shell-operated Tern oil field with its associated
infrastructure which has been in production since 1989.
Block 9/9d, also located in the Northern North Sea, includes the 9/9d-17 well
which was drilled in 1997 encountering an Upper Jurassic oil-bearing reservoir
interval. This well is located between the Bruce and Beryl oil fields and the
partners will study the possibility of an economic development and recovery of
hydrocarbons from the 9/9d-17 well area.
The initial term of the licences is for two years during which time the work
programme will comprise of the review and reprocessing of existing subsurface
data.
