British Airways PLC
22 January 2007
The Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU) has given formal notice to
British Airways that the airline's employees who are members of the TGWU's cabin
crew branch will be called upon to take part in industrial action.
The action would take the form of a series of 72 hour strikes on Monday January
29 to Wednesday January 31; Monday February 5 to Wednesday February 7 and Monday
12 to Wednesday February 14 and on further dates to be notified.
The airline said it remains committed to the search for a peaceful outcome to
this dispute and it has urged the union to withdraw this totally unjustified
strike threat to give negotiations the fullest chance of success.
