Beazley plc Board Changes
Beazley plc announces that Dennis Holt was appointed as a non-executive director of Beazley plc on the 21st July 2011. Mr Holt, formerly the Group Chief Executive of Axa UK is, subject to regulatory approval, expected to take up the position of non-executive Chairman following the Annual General Meeting in March 2012, succeeding Jonathan Agnew who, as previously announced, is to leave the Board at that time, having been Chairman since 2003.
Andy Pomfret, who joined the Beazley board in 2003, left the board on the 21st July 2011 to concentrate on his role as chief executive officer of Rathbone Brothers Plc. In addition to his other board responsibilities, Mr Pomfret has chaired the remuneration committee and served as senior independent director. He has been succeeded as Chairman of the remuneration committee by Padraic O'Connor and as senior independent director by George Blunden.
Andrew Horton, Beazley Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted that Dennis Holt has joined the Beazley board and, subject to regulatory approval, will be succeeding Jonathan Agnew as Chairman next year. Dennis brings a wealth of insurance and broader financial services sector expertise to the role, which will be invaluable to us as we continue to grow our business at Lloyd's and internationally."
"We are immensely grateful for the substantial contribution that Andy Pomfret has made since joining the group in 2003."
Mr Holt was a director of Bank of Ireland plc from October 2006 until 15th June 2011. There are no further matters requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
