Marty Becker joins Beazley Board
London, 11 May, 2006 - Beazley Group plc (BEZ.L) is pleased to announce the
appointment of W. Marston (Marty) Becker as an independent non-executive
director with effect from 8 May 2006.
Mr Becker, an attorney and certified public accountant, has more than 28 years'
experience working at a senior level across a broad range of insurance and
reinsurance businesses. He is currently serving as chairman and chief executive
officer of LaSalle Reinsurance, managing the run-off of the Bermuda-based
reinsurer. During the course of his career he served as chairman and chief
executive officer of Trenwick Group, Ltd; chairman of Hales and Company, an
investment bank specializing in insurance and financial services; chairman and
chief executive officer of Orion Capital; vice chairman of Royal & SunAlliance,
USA; and president and CEO of McDonough Caperton Insurance Group.

Inc.
2. Within the past five years, Marty has also been a director of Arch Capital
Group, Inc and Trenwick Group, Ltd.

Chapter 11 reorganization under the US Code.
