       Purchase of shares by the Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust


The board of Beazley Group plc announces that Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit
Trust acquired 2,513,699 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company (0.7% of the
issued share capital) at a cost of 144p per share on 7th March 2007. These
shares will be used to fulfil awards that have been made under the Deferred
Share and Retention Plans.


The Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust now owns 7,529,125 ordinary shares
of 5p each (2.1% of the issued share capital).
