       Purchase of shares by the Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust

The board of Beazley Group plc announces that Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit
Trust acquired 1,450,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company (0.4% of the
issued share capital) at a cost of 170.87p per share on 6th March 2008. These
shares will be used to fulfil awards that have been made under the Deferred
Share plan.

The Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust now owns 9,880,231 ordinary shares
of 5p each (2.7% of the issued share capital).
