       Purchase of shares by the Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust





The board of Beazley Group plc announces that Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit
Trust acquired 1,000,000 ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company (0.6% of the
issued share capital) at a cost of 127.0p per share on 11th December 2006. These
shares will be used to fulfil an award that has been made under the Retention
Plan.


The Beazley Group plc Employee Benefit Trust now owns 5,070,511 ordinary shares
of 5p each (1.4% of the issued share capital).
