                            DIRECTOR'S SHAREHOLDINGS

The company was yesterday informed that under the terms of the Bellway plc
Employee Share Trust (1992) (an arrangement to reward directors and employees)
118,544 Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary shares were yesterday transferred to the
following directors for a consideration of £1 per director:



H C Dawe                   -              37,779

J K Watson                 -              32,163

P J Stoker                 -              27,160

A M Leitch                 -              21,442

                                         118,544



In addition, a further 11,742 shares were transferred to another employee at the
same time for a consideration of £1.



Immediately thereafter, 91,782 Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary shares were sold at a
price of £14.815 per share to Capita IRG Trustees Limited who are the Trustees
of the Bellway plc Employee Share Trust (1992) as follows:



H C Dawe                   -           35,000

J K Watson                 -           13,200

P J Stoker                 -           22,160

A M Leitch                 -           21,422

                                       91,782



In addition, a further 10,742 Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary shares were sold at a
price of £14.815 per share to Capita IRG Trustees Limited in respect of another
employee of the company.



Following the above transactions, the number of Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary
shares which are beneficially held by each of the directors concerned is as
follows:

In addition, the total number of shares held in the Bellway plc Employee Share
Trust (1992) is 255,089 (0.22%)  (282,851; 0.25%).  Of these, the Chairman, Mr H
C Dawe and the executive directors have a beneficial interest in 204,107 (0.18%)
(204,107; 0.18%) ordinary shares held under the terms of the company's deferred
bonus arrangements.



Under the terms of the Bellway plc (2004) Performance Share Plan, the Chairman,
Mr H C Dawe and the executive directors have a potential beneficial interest in
up to 291,250  (0.25%) (483,129; 0.42%) shares held in the Trust.



In addition, each Bellway executive director has a potential further beneficial
interest in up to nil (0.0%) (nil; 0.0%) shares held in the Trust.



The other interests of the directors remain unchanged.
