Bellway PLC 03 November 2003 BELLWAY PLC BOARD CHANGES 3RD NOVEMBER 2003 Mr D S Bramley retired as a non-executive director with effect from 31st October 2003. The Board would like to thank Mr Bramley for the significant contribution he has made to the Group over the past 10 years. In addition, Mr P M Johnson, a chartered accountant, is appointed as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 1st November 2003. He will become a member of the Board Committee on Executive Directors Remuneration, the Audit Committee (of which he will be appointed Chairman) and the Nomination Committee, all to be effective from 1st November 2003. Mr Johnson along with the other directors of the company holds a joint non-beneficial interest in 18,000 Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary shares held under the terms of the Bellway plc 1988 Employee Benefit Trust (a trust used to reward directors and employees), representing 0.016% of the issued ordinary share capital of the company. There are no matters to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority and Mr Johnson has not served as a director of any publicly quoted company in the last 5 years. Furthermore, the company wishes to advise that with effect from 1st November 2003, Mr L P Finn, who is currently a non-executive director, is appointed senior independent non-executive director. In addition, on the same date, Mr Finn relinquishes his chairmanship of the Audit Committee (but remains a member of the Committee) and assumes the chairmanship of the Board Committee on Executive Directors' Remuneration.
