                                 IFRS STATEMENT

                                24TH MARCH 2006



On Friday 31 March Bellway will be releasing a restatement of its results for
the half year ended 31 January 2005 and the year ended 31 July 2005 in
accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards ('IFRS'). The
results for the half year ended 31 January 2006 will be announced on Tuesday 4
April and will be the first prepared under IFRS.
