Results of Placing

The Berkeley Group Holdings plc ('Berkeley') is pleased to announce the successful completion of the placing announced earlier today (the 'Placing').

A total of 6,041,030 new Units of £0.10 each in Berkeley (the 'Placing Units') have been placed by UBS Limited at a price of 840p per Placing Unit, raising gross proceeds of approximately £51 million. The Placing Units being issued represent approximately 5 per cent. of Berkeley's issued ordinary share capital prior to the Placing. 

Application will be made to the Financial Services Authority for admission of the Placing Units to the Official List maintained by the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock Exchange (the 'LSE') for admission to trading of the Placing Units on the LSE's main market for listed securities (together 'Admission'). It is expected that Admission will take place on 3 March 2009 and that dealings in the Placing Units on the LSE's main market for listed securities will commence at the same time.

Upon Admission, the Placing Units will rank pari passu with the existing Units of Berkeley.

UBS Limited acted as sole bookrunner and underwriter in respect of the Placing.
