BHP STAFFING CHANGES
The Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited (BHP) today announced that Mr
Robert (Bob) Flew, Vice President Investor Relations and Company Secretary
will retire from BHP at the end of 1999.
The responsibility for BHP's investor relations program will be assumed by Dr
Robert Porter, currently Manager External Affairs, BHP Petroleum. On Bob
Flew's retirement, the Company Secretary position will be transferred to the
Company's Legal function.
Mr Paul Anderson, the Managing Director and CEO of BHP, said that he wished to
pay tribute to Bob Flew's work in various positions in finance, treasury and
corporate development, as head of the Company's coal business, running
International, and more recently Investor Relations and Company Secretary.
''During his 36 years with BHP, Bob has brought strong analytical skills, a
commercial focus and sound common sense to all of his roles in the
Company and we thank him for his efforts'', Mr Anderson said.
