BIG YELLOW ACQUIRES TWO NEW STORES
Big Yellow Group PLC ('The Group') today announces the acquisition of two
properties in London, on which it is proposing to open stores.
The Group has acquired a leasehold interest in a building fronting the A13 in
Barking, London. Following construction the store will provide approximately
42,000 sq. ft. of storage. The store will be prominently located on this main
arterial road out of the East of London.
It is anticipated that the store will commence trading in the early summer of
this year.
In addition, The Group has acquired for £1.75m cash a 1.8 acre site on the
A215, half a mile south of the South Circular in West Norwood which lies
between Dulwich and Streatham.
The store will provide approximately 54,000 sq. ft. of storage. Part of the
site is surplus to requirement and will be sold in due course.
Subject to receiving the necessary planning permits expeditiously, it is
anticipated that the store will be opened for trade in the early part of 2002.
