Director's shareholding


Big Yellow Group PLC (the 'Company') announces that James Gibson, an executive
director of the Company, exercised an option to acquire 750,000 Ordinary Shares
at 10 pence per share on Tuesday 27th September.  This option was granted to him
under the Big Yellow Group PLC Unapproved Share Option Plan on 24th September
1998.  Following this transaction, Mr Gibson's total holding in the Company is
2,586,000 shares, representing 2.54% of the issued share capital of the Company

The Company also announces that it was informed today that David Ross, a non-
executive director of the Company, yesterday acquired 175,000 ordinary shares at
236 pence. This increases his beneficial holding to 5,785,500 shares,
representing 5.69% of the issued share capital of the Company

The Company was also informed that Nicholas Vetch, an executive director of the
Company, yesterday acquired 175,000 ordinary shares at 236 pence. This increases
his beneficial holding to 11,425,000 shares, representing 11.24% of the issued
share capital of the Company
