Big Yellow Group PLC
("Big Yellow", "the Group" or "the Company")
Directorate Change
Big Yellow Group PLC, the FTSE 250 self storage company, announces that Philip
Burks, a Co-Founder and Property Director of the Group, will be moving to a non
executive position from today's date.
Over the last 6 months much of Philip's responsibilities have been assumed by
Andrew Watson, the Group's newly appointed Director of Property. Andrew has been
with Big Yellow for 6 years and will now head a team of 5, reporting directly to
Nicholas Vetch, the Group's Executive Chairman, who will take up responsibility
for property matters at Board level.
As a significant shareholder, Philip will remain available when his considerable
experience and contacts are needed.
Nicholas Vetch, Chairman, commented:
"I have been in business with Philip for 21 years and it has been unequivocally
and without exception, the best of partnerships. Although I will miss his day to
day involvement, I am grateful he will continue to make available his contacts,
experience and advice.
He has been instrumental in piecing together a unique portfolio for Big Yellow
and on behalf of James Gibson, the Group's CEO, and the remainder of the Board,
we thank him for his valuable contribution.
Initially under Philip's guidance and latterly on his own merits, Andrew Watson
has seamlessly established his credentials and I have every confidence that he
will continue to deliver the necessary property acquisitions and planning
consents to continue the Group's expansion."

Notes to Editors
Big Yellow Group PLC is one of the leading and most dynamic self-storage groups
in the UK. It was founded in 1998 by Nicholas Vetch, Philip Burks and James
Gibson and listed on AIM in May 2000, moving to the Official List of the London
Stock Exchange in 2002.
Big Yellow has expanded rapidly and now operates from 43 stores in London and
the South, and one in Leeds, with a further 19 stores in development and of the
62, 51 are held freehold and two long leasehold. All the stores have the
distinct yellow branding, in accessible main road locations, with the majority
being within the M25 or in strong urban conurbations. When fully built out the
portfolio will provide approximately 3.79 million sq ft of flexible storage
space.
The Group has pioneered the development of the latest generation of self-storage
facilities, which utilise state of the art technology and are located in high
profile, main road locations. Its focus on the location and visibility of its
buildings, coupled with excellent customer service, has created the most
recognised brand name in the UK self-storage industry.
