Big Yellow Group PLC, the UK's brand leader in self storage, announces that Philip Burks, a co-founder of the business in September 1998, will be retiring from his current role as a Non-Executive Director at the Group's next Annual General Meeting on 19 July 2013.

The Group also announces the appointment by the Nominations Committee of Georgina Harvey as an independent Non-Executive Director from 1 July 2013.

Georgina was Managing Director of the Regionals division of Trinity Mirror from 2005 to 2012, overseeing its transition to a digital platform.  Georgina started her media career at Express Newspapers plc where she was appointed Advertising Director in 1994. She joined IPC Media Ltd in 1995 and went on to form IPC Advertising in 1998, where she was Managing Director. She was a member of the Board of IPC Media from 2000. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of William Hill plc. William Hill is the UK's leading bookmaker, providing gaming and betting products across multiple channels, including shops, online, the phone and mobile devices.

Georgina will serve on the Company's Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Aside from the information set out in the announcement above, no further information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
