Big Yellow Group PLC announces that Jonathan Short will be retiring as a Non-Executive Director at the Group's next Annual General Meeting on 10 July 2012 having served on the board for 12 years. 

The Group also announces the appointment by the Nominations Committee of Richard Cotton as an independent Non-Executive Director.  Richard Cotton headed the real estate corporate finance team at JP Morgan Cazenove until April 2009.  Richard is currently a Managing Director of Forum Partners and a Non-Executive Director of Hansteen Holdings plc.  Richard will be appointed to the Board with effect from the date of the AGM 10 July 2012.

Richard will serve on the Company's Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Aside from the information set out in the announcement above, no further information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
