Close Period Share Re-purchase Programme


Big Yellow Group plc (the "Company") announces that effective from 1 October
2003, the Company has commenced an irrevocable, non-discretionary programme to
repurchase its own shares during the close period, which commences at the close
of business on 30 September 2003, in accordance with Chapter 15 of the Listing
Rules and Big Yellow Group plc's general authority to repurchase shares as
approved at an extraordinary general meeting on 24 April 2003 and shares may be
purchased until 23 October 2003 inclusive.  Big Yellow Group will be announcing
its interim results for the six months ended 30 September 2003 on 5 November
2003.
