Statement re Store Fire

Big Yellow Group PLC, the self storage company, announces that's its Wandsworth
store has suffered a fire over the weekend. The fire is believed to have been
started outside the store by vandals.

The building and all the fixtures and fittings are fully insured and the Group
is also insured for loss of trade whilst the store is inoperable.  Big Yellow
has no liability for goods stored in its property and the majority of its
customers carry their own insurance.

At this stage the extent of the damage is difficult to ascertain, but the store
will be rebuilt and reopened as soon as practicably possible.
