Board changes
As previously stated, Berkeley Berry Birch plc (BBB) today announces the
retirement of Sir Jeremy Black (70) from the Board with effect from 31 December
2002, after four years as non-executive Chairman.
BBB anticipates the appointment of a new non-executive chairman in the early
part of 2003. In the interim period, Clifford P. Lockyer, the BBB Group Chief
Executive will act as Chairman.
Cliff Lockyer, commenting on Sir Jeremy's retirement, said:
'We wish Sir Jeremy all the best in his retirement and thank him for his hard
work and guidance over a period of significant change for the Group.'
In addition to recruiting a new Chairman, BBB is also in the process of
interviewing and appointing two additional, independent non executive directors
to the Board and expects to be in a position to announce further details early
in the new year.
