                ELIZABETH FILKIN APPOINTED CHAIRMAN OF STANELCO



Stanelco PLC, the fully listed Rf (radio frequency) applications group,
announces the appointment as its non-executive Chairman of Elizabeth Filkin, who
from February 1999 to February 2002 was Parliamentary Commissioner for
Standards.



Elizabeth Filkin, 61, has had a distinguished and diverse career, most recently
earning wide-spread respect as Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, in
which role she chose not to apply for a second term.   Additionally, Elizabeth
Filkin:



  • is currently an Audit Commissioner, Member of Regulatory Discussions
    Committee Financial Services Authority, Chairman of the Public Policy Board
    of Queen Mary and Westfield College in the University of London, and Deputy
    Chairman of the Board of Governors of East London University;



  • was Adjudicator for the Inland Revenue, Customs & Excise and the DSS
    Contributions Agency (1993-99);



  • was a non-executive Director of Britannia Building Society (1992-98), Hay
    Management Consultants UK (1992-98) and Logica PLC (1995-99);



  • was Assistant Chief Executive of London Docklands Development Corporation
    (1988-92);



  • was Chief Executive of the National Association of the Citizens's Advice
    Bureau (1983-88); and



Ian Balchin, Chief Executive, stated 'Elizabeth Filkin's appointment as Chairman
is a great coup for Stanelco.   I have no doubt that she will be extremely
useful in helping Stanelco grow both as a business - where its technology for
sealing pharmaceutical softgel capsules has particular potential - and as a
public company.'



Mr Balchin continued 'Our thanks are due to Christopher Mills, who has been
Chairman of Stanelco for the past 12 years. I am pleased to say that Christopher
Mills' extensive experience of  public companies and understanding of the stock
market will continue to be available to Stanelco as he will be remaining a
non-executive Director.'
