Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM: FBT), the AIM-quoted owner and developer of the market leading cloud video platform, Forscene, and video social network, 'eva', announces the appointment of Andrew Bentley as Non-Executive Director to the Board with immediate effect.
Andrew's appointment to the Board follows that of Jim Irving on the 2nd November 2015. Both appointments have been made to strengthen the commercial capability of the Company's leadership team.
Andrew, aged 53, was the former Chairman of the University of Bedfordshire which under his tenure was awarded The Queen's Award for Enterprise and was returned to sustainable profitability. He founded and commercialised a number of media and technology businesses, including Saffron Digital Limited, which resulted from the restructuring of the Filmnight Group.
Saffron Digital established itself as a global leader in mobile content delivery and the management and distribution of digital content of film and TV for mobile. Key clients included Vodafone and T-Mobile. The company was also a digital content agency for Disney, Universal, Warner, Sony, Channel 4, IPC Media and EMAP.
Saffron Digital was sold to HTC in 2009.
Andrew was founder and Executive Chairman at LP33.TV, a USA and China based digital media production company and content distributer, which achieved over 5 million unique online views in the US and owned a production library of over 1,000 titles.
As President of Electrolux Home Products (EHP) International, Andrew was responsible for over 25,000 employees. Key achievements included the Global Brand Repositioning, Sales Channel reengineering in response to retail consolidation and e-commerce B2B, New Technology and New Product generation planning and development.
Previous earlier positions have included CEO of EMI and Virgin Music Group Asia-Pacific, CFO of the Virgin Music Group, Head of Strategic Analysis at Safeway PLC and various roles at BP Exploration.
Mr Bentley is currently interested in 30,000 ordinary shares of Forbidden Technologies, which represents less than 0.1 per cent. of the current issued share capital of the Company.

Andrew Bentley said of his appointment:

Other than that set out below, there are no other matters that are required to be disclosed under Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules in relation to the appointment of Andrew Bentley.

Mr Bentley was appointed a director of A D P Film Distribution in June 1999. A D P Film Distribution was voluntary dissolved in August 2008. Mr Bentley has confirmed there were no liabilities to creditors or any relevant disclosures for the purposes of the AIM Rules.
Mr Bentley was appointed a director of Myawol.com Ltd in October 2007. Myawol.com Ltd was voluntary dissolved in February 2015. Mr Bentley has confirmed there were no liabilities to creditors or any relevant disclosures for the purposes of the AIM Rules.
Mr Bentley was appointed a director of Myrecovery in December 2006. Myrecovery was voluntary dissolved in October 2009. Mr Bentley has confirmed there were no liabilities to creditors or any relevant disclosures for the purposes of the AIM Rules.
Mr Bentley was a director of Filmnight Group Limited, a Guernsey Company that was a holding company for the following companies all of which Mr Bentley was a director of: Apollo Video Film Hire Limited, Filmnight Stores Limited, Vid Biz Limited, VidBiz Home Entertainment Limited, Giltmain Limited and Apollo Video Film Hire Limited and Filmnight Guernsey Limited. These companies were placed into administration and/or dissolved between July 2007 and January 2013. Mr Bentley was a director of Filmnight Stores Limited (December 20014 to November 2010) and Giltmain Limited (November 2005 and January 2013) at the time the companies were placed into administration and dissolved. The amount owing to creditors for Filmnight Group Limited and its subsidiaries is unknown.
