Forbidden Technologies plc
("Forbidden" or the "Company")
Directorate Change
Forbidden Technologies plc (AIM: FBT), the AIM-quoted owner and developer of the market leading cloud video platform, Forscene, and video social network, 'eva', announces the appointment of Jim Irving as Non-Executive Director. Jim, aged 42, will be appointed to the Board with immediate effect. His appointment is in line with the Company's desire to strengthen the commercial capability of the leadership team.
Jim possesses a wealth of experience in developing and growing companies within the digital sports production sector. During his seven years as Commercial Director at deltatre Media from 2008 to 2015, Jim was ultimately responsible for all commercial activity across the UK, and latterly Asia and Oceania markets; this was followed by a promotion to a global role. Jim added Sky Sports, BT Sport, Premier League and Fox International Channels to the company's list of clients. Prior to that, in reverse chronological order, Jim held the roles of Executive Producer, Projects & Planning; Head of Digital Production Projects, BBC Future Media and Technology; Executive Director, Match of the Day 2 and was responsible for overseeing BBC Sport's IBC Operations at two World Cups and two Euro Championships. Most recently, Jim founded Fanview Consultancy LLP, a sports content & technology business that helps rights owners to maximise the value of their content through fan engagement.
Stephen Streater, Chairman of Forbidden Technologies, commented:
"With the appointment of Aziz Musa as CEO, we signalled our intention to strengthen senior management's commercial capability and the appointment of Jim is a continuation of that. Jim brings with him a vast amount of relevant experience and a unique skillset that I've no doubt will be of great benefit to the Company. He has many years of working in senior leadership roles across blue chip and digital-orientated organisations and I'm confident his expertise and contacts will be of immense value to the Board as we look to drive Forbidden's video platform through the next phase of commercialisation."
Jim Irving said of his appointment:
"Forbidden's strong reputation in the industry and compelling technology made my decision to join the Company an easy one. I'm very pleased to be on board and look forward to working alongside the Directors to help the business realise its commercial potential."
