                         INTERIM AND SPECIAL DIVIDENDS

                          Year Ending 31 October 2007



Interim and Special Dividends



The Board has declared an interim dividend of 1.75p per Ordinary Share, payable
on 14 June 2007 to holders on the register at the close of business on 18 May
2007.



The Board has also declared a special dividend of 1.25p per Ordinary Share,
payable on 14 June 2007 to holders on the register at the close of business on
18 May 2007.



The amended timetable and special dividend reflect the fact that British
Portfolio Trust plc is participating in proposals to offer new shares to loan
noteholders of Greene King Acquisitions (No. 3) Limited.
