British Portfolio Trust plc announces that on 9 November 2011 it purchased, for cancellation, 96,552 Ordinary 1p Shares (representing 0.33% of the issued Ordinary Capital), at a price of 126.5p per Ordinary Share.

Settlement of the purchased 96,552 Ordinary Shares is due on 14 November 2011.

Following the purchase and cancellation of the 96,552 Ordinary Shares, the total number of Treasury shares held by the Company will be 5,054,664. The issued share capital of the Company, less the total number of Ordinary Shares held in Treasury, will be 29,044,268 Ordinary 1p Shares.
