British Portfolio Trust plc announces that on 23 January 2012 it cancelled 500,000 Ordinary 1p Shares from Treasury.

Following the cancellation of the 500,000 Ordinary 1p Shares from Treasury the total number of Treasury Shares held by the Company will be 4,554,664.  The issued share capital of the Company, less the total number of Ordinary Shares held in Treasury, remains unchanged.
