Treasury Shares


The Company announces that on 23 May 2007 it transferred to holders of Loan
Notes issued by Greene King Acquisitions (No.3) Limited, as outlined in the
Proposal Document dated 13 April 2007,  2,914,502 Ordinary Shares at 199.7337p.
These shares were previously held as treasury shares.


Following the above transactions, the Company holds 1,447,164 Ordinary Shares in
treasury, and has 42,262,610 Ordinary Shares in issue (excluding treasury
shares).
