F&C LATIN AMERICAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

EXERCISE OF WARRANTS


F&C Latin American Investment Trust PLC (the 'Company') announces that warrant
holders have exercised their right to subscribe for a total of 8,533,764
ordinary shares of 10 cents each. Accordingly the Company has today allotted
8,533,764 ordinary shares at the fixed subscription price of US$1.00 per share.
Following this exercise there are 79,719,115 ordinary shares in issue.

A total of 425,927 warrants remained unexercised following the final
subscription date of 31 July 2005. In accordance with the terms of the warrant
particulars The Law Debenture Trust Corporation plc has been appointed to act as
warrant trustee in respect of the remaining warrants.
