3i Smaller Quoted Co's Trust PLC

On 27 July 2001, 3i Smaller Quoted Companies Trust plc announced that it had
purchased 55,000 of its own Ordinary Shares of 25p each, for cancellation. The
Company now confirms that these shares were cancelled on 6 August 2001 and that
the Company's issued share capital now is 57,563,523 Ordinary Shares of 25p
each.
