Appointment of new Director
Merrill Lynch World Mining Trust plc announces that Tony Lea has agreed to join
the Board, as a non-executive director, with effect from 29 July 2005.
Tony Lea is the Finance Director of Anglo American plc in London, one of the
world's leading mining and natural resources companies, having joined the
company in 1972. He also serves as a non-executive director of AngloGold
Ashanti, the world's second largest gold producer, and De Beers Investments SA.
He has also served as a non-executive director of the Englehard Corporation
where he served as the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
He is a main committee member of the '100' Group and Chairman of the Environment
Committee. He is also a member of the Economic Affairs Committee of the CBI.
