                     Appointment of Non Executive Director

Charles Black (67) will be appointed as a non-executive director to the Board
today at a meeting following the Annual General Meeting. Charles has
considerable experience of the book publishing market having previously been
Chairman and joint Managing Director of A&C Black, the reference book publisher,
and its subsidiary companies, which Bloomsbury acquired in 2000. He first joined
A&C Black in 1960 and became a member of its board in 1964. There are no
disclosures required under paragraph 6.F.2 (b) to (g) of the Listing Rules.

Commenting on the appointment, Nigel Newton, Chairman of Bloomsbury said:

'Charles Black brings considerable experience of book publishing and a wealth of
contacts to our board. I'm delighted that he is joining, as we continue to
develop the Group.'
