BlueRock Diamonds PLC
("BlueRock" or "Group" or "Company" or "BRD")
Production Update
BlueRock Diamonds plc, the AIM listed diamond mining company, which owns and operates the Kareevlei Diamond Mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa ("Kareevlei"), announces an update on the changes being implemented at the crushing circuit at Kareevlei, in tandem with its independent engineering consultant.
The two parties have been evaluating the crushing circuit and implementing changes to optimise mining performance as the Company looks to build production and commence open pit mining at its second kimberlite pipe, KV01. They have identified a fault in the cone crusher within the crushing circuit which has been affecting throughput. As a result, work has commenced to rectify the issue which, the Board believe, when completed, will allow for improved capacity as BlueRock enters its next phase of development. The Company will notify the market as soon as production recommences, which is anticipated to be within the next 10 days.
Adam Waugh BlueRock Diamonds CEO said, "As reported, we have been looking to optimise performance of the crushing circuit as we look to build on our production profile at Kareevlei. The downtime is obviously frustrating, but with the problem identified we can now implement a solution that we believe will have a positive impact on overall performance once rectified."
