Fidelity - Notification of change in notifiable interest



FMR Corp. of Boston, Massachusetts and Fidelity International Limited of Bermuda
( together 'Fidelity') notified the company on 17 January 2003 that its material
interest now totalled a holding of 16,891,025 shares of Bodycote International
plc representing 6.59% of Bodycote's issued share capital, and that such
notification also comprised the interest of Edward C. Johnson III as a principal
shareholder of Fidelity.
