Fidelity - Notification of change in notifiable interest

FMR Corp. of Boston, Massachusetts and Fidelity International Limited of Bermuda
(together 'Fidelity') notified the company on 23 January 2003 that its material
interest now totalled a holding of 14,159,886 shares of Bodycote International
plc representing 5.52% of Bodycote's issued share capital, and that such
notification also comprised the interest of Edward C. Johnson III as a principal
shareholder of Fidelity.'
