We write to notify you we were advised on 17 January 2001 that Mr R.F. Chase, a
director of BP Amoco p.l.c., exercised an option to purchase 9,324 BP Ordinary
Shares @ £1.85 per share under the BP Group Savings-Related Share Option Scheme
on 5 September 2000.
