We write to notify you that Mr W.D.Ford, who was appointed an Executive Director
of BP Amoco p.l.c on 1 January 2000, has advised us that he has an interest in
39,452.9890 BP Amoco ADSs (equivalent to 236,718 of the Company's
$0.25 Ordinary shares) and options over 756,074 BP Amoco ADSs (equivalent to
4,536,444 of the Company's $0.25 Ordinary shares).

Mr Ford has advised us that he has not held any other directorships in any other
UK publicly quoted company at any time in the past five years nor has he any
details to disclose in accordance with Chapter 6.F.2(b) to (g) of The Listing
Rules.
