We write to notify you that we were advised on 3 April 2000 that Sir John
Browne, a Director of BP Amoco p.l.c. acquired 48.9495 BP Amoco ADRs (equivalent
to approximately 293 of the Company's Ordinary shares) on 24 March 2000 @
$50.625 per ADS through reinvestment of dividends in the BP America Savings and
Investment Plan.
