Update on AGM Arrangements
At the time of the announcement of our financial results on 27th April 2021, the Company anticipated that shareholder attendance at the Company's seventy-first Annual General Meeting, to be held at Hunslet Road on 23rd June 2021, would be possible under the government's published roadmap, which would see the lifting of all restrictions on mass gathering and social contact on 21th June 2021.
The government has now announced that the current tight restrictions will remain in place including "the Rule of 6" from different households for indoor meetings until at least 19th July 2021. In light of these changes, the Company has assessed its physical place of meeting and shareholders will now not be able to attend the AGM in person.
The Company will make the necessary arrangements such that the legal requirements to hold the meeting can be satisfied through the attendance of a minimum number of people required to form a quorum and anyone whose attendance is necessary for the conduct of the meeting. The format of the meeting will be purely functional.
As stated in our announcement in April, we strongly encourage all shareholders to exercise their votes by submitting their proxy by post in advance of the meeting and shareholders are strongly encouraged to appoint the Chairman of the meeting as their proxy. This will ensure that your votes are cast in accordance with your wishes.
