Swallowfield announces that it has today granted options to acquire ordinary
5p shares to two directors of the Company. The options have been granted for
nil consideration and may be exercised at any time between 3 February 2003 and
3 February 2010 at a price of 73p per share. The number of shares over which
options have been granted are as follows:

Brian Williamson 60,000
Ian Mackinnon 50,000
Neither Brian Williamson nor Ian Mackinnon hold options over the Company's
ordinary 5p shares other than those stated above.
Swallowfield also announces that the options over 200,000 shares granted to
Stephen Daykin, former Group Finance Director, on 12 April 1999, lapsed on 11
November 1999.
