Swallowfield PLC
13 December 1999
Following our recent announcements, Swallowfield plc confirms the appointment
of Ian Mackinnon to the role of Group Finance Director. Since qualifying as a
chartered accountant, Mr Mackinnon has worked for the Lawson Marden Group, the
Raychem Corporation and most recently Invensys plc. He will be joining the
group on 4th January 2000.
Tony Dowsett, currently Group Operations Director, is leaving early in the
year 2000. During his 25 year career with the business, Tony has played a key
role through its years of growth since the buyout.
Whilst a permanent successor is sought, we have appointed Brian Williamson as
Interim Group Operations Director. He will report directly to Tony Wardell,
ensuring continuity of operational management with particular focus upon our
Cosmetics business. Brian Williamson is 42 years of age with a Degree in
Engineering from Cambridge and has recently been responsible for aerosol can
manufacturing in Europe on behalf of the Crown Cork Company.
Current trading continues in line with expectations and, as we are seeing
improving levels of business, we have increasing confidence in our order book
running in to the New Year.
