Board Changes
Breedon Group plc, a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland, has appointed Moni Mannings as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 December 2019.
Moni has held several senior non-executive positions, including as a Board Member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, non-executive director of Dairy Crest Group PLC and non-executive director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Polypipe Group PLC. She is currently Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Investec Bank PLC.
Moni is a former Partner and Head of the International Banking & Finance Division of Olswang LLP, prior to which she held senior positions with Dewey Ballantine LLP and Simmons & Simmons. More recently, she was Chief Operating Officer of Aistemos Ltd, a leading IP data analytics and strategy company.
Having served on the Board of Breedon since its creation in 2008, David Williams will retire as a director on 31 December 2019. The Board would like to express its thanks to David for his support and counsel during the development of the Breedon Group. It is anticipated that Moni will succeed him as Chair of Breedon's Remuneration Committee upon his retirement.
David Williams commented: "Having served as a non-executive director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee since co-founding the company in 2008, I believe the time is now right to step down from the Board in accordance with best governance practice. I will therefore retire as a director at the end of this year. It has been an absolute pleasure to serve on Breedon's Board for the last 11 years and as I take my leave I am delighted that the company has attracted two such outstanding new non-executive directors in Moni Mannings and Clive Watson. I wish the company and its staff every success in the future."
