To comply with paragraph 9.6.13(1) of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules we
confirm that Mr Nicandro Durante, who was appointed a director of British
American Tobacco p.l.c. with effect from 1st January 2008, is not and has not
been a director of any other publicly quoted company at any time during the
previous five years.



In addition there are no matters required by paragraphs 9.6.13(2) to (6) of the
Listing Rules to be disclosed by him.
