BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO p.l.c.

NOTIFICATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH LISTING RULE 9.6.13

Further to the announcement of 24th June 2010, British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company"), in accordance with paragraph 9.6.13(1) of the UK Listing Authority Listing Rules, confirms that:-

1.         Mr Kieran Poynter, who has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st July 2010, has been a Director of F&C Asset Management PLC, a publicly quoted company, since 1st June 2009.  He has no previous appointments as a Director of publicly quoted companies during the previous five years; and

2.         Mr John Daly, who has been appointed an Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1st September 2010, was a Director of ITC Limited, a publicly quoted company in India, from 21st January 2005 to 8th December 2008.  He is not currently a Director of any publicly quoted company.

There are no matters required by paragraphs 9.6.13(2) to (6) of the Listing Rules to be disclosed by either Mr Poynter or Mr Daly.
