In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13R(1), British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company") confirms that Dr Marion Helmes, who has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 1 August 2016, has been a director of the following publicly quoted companies in the previous five years:

Pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R(3), Dr Helmes was the Chief Financial Officer of Q-Cells SE from 1 July 2010 to 14 November 2011, at which time she stepped down from the Board at her own request.  In April 2012, Q-Cells SE filed for insolvency and was later acquired by South Korean company Hanwha.

There are no further matters required to be disclosed by Dr Helmes under Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
