Notification made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the
Disclosure  and Transparency Rules.

The Company was notified on 26 March 2008 that on 14 March 2008 a person
connected with Mrs K.M.A. de Segundo, a Non-Executive Director of British
American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company"), sold 950 British American Tobacco
p.l.c. shares (the "Shares") at a price of 1953.03 pence per Share.  The Shares
were registered in a designated account with Chase Nominees.

Following this transaction, Mrs de Segundo has a beneficial and family interest
in the Company of 4,050 Shares.
