NOTIFICATION OF TRANSACTIONS BY DIRECTORS, PERSONS DISCHARGING MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITY OR CONNECTED PERSONS

Notifications made in accordance with Disclosure Rule 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the Disclosure Rules and Transparency Rules.

1.    The Company was notified on 4 August 2014 that on 1 August 2014 Mr Giovanni Giordano, a person discharging managerial responsibilities, purchased 1,500 British American Tobacco p.l.c. American Depositary Receipts ("ADRs"), represented by 3,000 British American Tobacco p.l.c. ordinary shares (the "Shares"), at a price of US$116.174 per ADR. 

2.    The Company was notified on 4 August 2014 that on 4 August 2014 Mr J B Stevens, an executive director and a person discharging managerial responsibilities, purchased 506 British American Tobacco p.l.c. shares at a price of 3,416 pence per Share.

3.    Following the above transactions, the total beneficial and family interests in British American Tobacco p.l.c. 25p ordinary shares of the following persons discharging managerial responsibilities was as follows:
