DIRECTOR/PDMR SHAREHOLDING


Further to the announcement dated 5 March 2007 (the "Announcement") concerning
the purchase of ordinary shares of 25p each in British American Tobacco p.l.c.
(the "Shares") by executive directors and other persons discharging managerial
responsibility by way of the Partnership Share Scheme, a typographical error was
made in the total beneficial interest of Mr M C T Prideaux such that it was
incorrectly stated in the Announcement.  The correct total beneficial interest
of Mr M C T  Prideaux as at the date of the Announcement is 98,003 (including
35,974 Deferred Shares).
